Welcome to our online remote laboratory for measuring environmental features.
In this section, you can observe and measure in real time enviromental features of various model boxes. Our goal is to explore the main factors that affect the internal temperature of these boxes. Each triplet of boxes explore only one factor at the time, but comparing them and combining the results, there will a numerous of conclusions. Would you like to give a try?

TODAY'S QUESTION: Does color of a box affect the internal temperature?
BASIC INFORMATION
As you can see, on your left below, you can observe some environmental features of the place where the experiment has been set up. On your right below you can actually see in real time the experimental set up itself. At this period of time there are three same boxes with different colors: white, black, ocher (dark orange).
There are six (6) temperature sensors, that you can get its measurements: T1 is placed in the white one , T3 is placed in the following box (black color) and T4 is placed in the last box (ocher color). T2, T5 is placed outside of the boxes (in shadow), and T6 is placed outside of the boxes too (in direct light).
- From the link below you can get the measurements of the temperature sensors that actually measure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
- You can also study the thermal comfort diagram and compare the measurements with the diagram. How "comfortable" is inside these boxes?

What do you expect to observe?

NOTICE
We would like to inform you that at 1 /11/ 2014 , the experimental set up will change and we will add boxes tha are made with thermal insulation materials and we will study the effectiveness of them!
